LilyFields Medical Center Surrogacy Team

For many years, traditional surrogacy was the norm. Until recently, due to advancement in knowledge and science, it is now possible to combine assisted reproductive technology with a voluntary gestational carrier. Lilyfields Medical Center’s IVF surrogacy services involve a surrogate mother carrying and deliverying a baby for intended parents who may be unable to carry a pregnancy to term themselves.

The Lilyfields Medical Center Surrogacy program typically involve several steps:

Screening and Matching: Intended parents and potential surrogate mothers are screened for medical, psychological, and legal suitability. Matching is done based on various criteria such as medical history, personal prefernces, and legal agreements.

Medical Procedures: The intended mother’s eggs or donor eggs are fertilized with the intended father’s sperm or donor sperm in a laboratory by IVF. The resulting embryos are then transferred to the surrogate’s uterus a few days later.

Pregnancy and Monitoring: The surrogate undergoes regular medical check-ups and monitoring to ensure the pregnancy progresses safely.

Legal Contracts: Legal agreements are drafted to outline the rights, responsibilities, and expectations of all parties involved, including issues related to parental rights and potential risks.

Birth and Post – Birth Procedures: The surrogate gives birth to the baby, and legal procedures are followed to transfer parental rights to the intended parents. Post – birth suppoet may be provided to hekp all parties adjust to the new family dynamics.

Throughout the process, emotional support and counselling are often available to help intended parents and surrogates navigate the complex emotions and challenges associated with assisted reproduction and surrogacy.
